Comfort Materials

Wrapping Blankets for Star Children

When parents can no longer accompany and protect their baby on its journey, it is comforting to know that it is lovingly wrapped and safely nestled. From the 12th week of pregnancy onwards, little star children can be wrapped in soft blankets. Our wonderful Brigitte sews these wrapping blankets from donated wedding dresses and lovingly selected fabrics. Some blankets are knitted or crocheted – every single stitch is a quiet sign of love, compassion and the wish to know that a little miracle is warmly cuddled.

As the very smallest often cannot yet wear clothing, the blankets are made from soft, cosy materials and worked with a fine stitch. They are made in various sizes so that every star child finds a fitting place of comfort.

There are blankets with and without hoods. Because the little head is especially in need of protection, we always include a matching hat with blankets without a hood.

Each wrapping blanket also comes with small keepsakes – for example hearts or butterflies made of wool. They are always made in pairs: one may accompany the child if the parents wish, the other stays with the parents and can offer comfort in difficult moments.

For the smaller star children we have ponchos – these make it possible to dress star children even before 12 weeks of pregnancy.

We also make small cloth nappies in all sizes so that families can perform the ritual of changing their star child – the first and the last time.

Comfort Box

When anticipation suddenly falls silent and deep pain remains, an emptiness arises for which there are hardly any words. In this time, something small to hold on to can mean infinitely much. In addition to supplying hospitals, gynaecological practices and midwives, we therefore send comfort boxes – small sets for star parents. Something you can carry with you and look at whenever you want to feel closeness.

No matter how early a pregnancy ended and how much time has passed: every star child counts. It was here, it is loved and it is missed. There are also loving keepsakes for siblings such as the Brikelinchen, Hauke Hare or small remembrance bears. Our dear Brigitte sends the comfort boxes free of charge upon request!

Comfort Keepsakes

For remembrance, small hearts, little wings or stars are lovingly handmade – sewn, crocheted or knitted. In every seam, in every stitch there is care, compassion and the hope of being able to offer a piece of comfort. The keepsakes are always made in pairs: one accompanies the star child, the second stays with the parents. In this way they remain connected in a special way.

Clothing for Premature Babies

Every child deserves a warm, colourful start in life. However, some little miracles arrive earlier than expected. To make neonatal units a little brighter and friendlier, our hardworking Brigitte sews lovingly designed rompers and small sets. This way the premature babies are comfortably dressed and parents have something beautiful for their child. Sewn in sizes 32 to 44.

Pearl Angels

Our helpers create small pearl angels – as pendants, necklace charms or for a personal memorial corner. They represent the children who have quietly spread their wings and gently travelled on to heaven. Each angel is unique – just like every child – and therefore a precious part of our star child sets.

Little Boats & Wrapping Blankets

Knowing that a baby is softly nestled and protected on its final journey can bring comfort. From the 12th week of pregnancy onwards, star children can be placed in small blankets. As suitable sizes are often hard to find, many of our members sew wrapping blankets and little boats in various sizes.

Different fabrics such as jersey or cotton are used for the outer sides. Blankets made from wedding dresses are especially precious – the love contained in every dress may live on in a new form. Satin is used for the outer sides, while soft fleece inside provides warmth and comfort. There are versions with and without hoods; for models without a hood we include a small hat.

Each blanket comes with keepsakes – hearts or teardrops that are always made in pairs: one accompanies the child, one stays with the parents.

Star Bags

When a pregnancy ends very early, the little star child is often still too delicate for clothing. For hygienic reasons it is sometimes kept in a small tube. So that these tiny miracles can also be farewelled with dignity, we place the tube in a lovingly made star bag. These bags are about 10 cm in size and are sewn, knitted or crocheted – with great care and heart.

Here too, two small keepsakes are included that can give parents support in their grief.

Keychains

Personal keychains are carefully handmade from ribbons, bows, beads and small charms. They can be personalised with "Mama", "Papa", "Oma", "Opa", "Brother" or "Sister". This way parents and relatives always carry a tangible remembrance with them.

Candles

Light brings warmth, hope and a quiet place for thoughts. That is why we offer small colourful tea lights and larger candles – for rituals, moments of remembrance and quiet reflection.

Burial Cradles

Our burial cradles come in various sizes and designs. They are lined with fabrics from donated wedding dresses and provided with a soft pillow and a small blanket. Keepsakes are included as well. If wished, parents and siblings can paint or write on the little caskets – as a very personal final farewell full of love.

Comfort Cards

After the loss of a star child, words are often missing – and suitable cards are hard to find. Relatives and friends receive free, handmade comfort cards from us. They make visible that this little life was here, was loved and has left its mark.

Flower Seed Pouches

Our comfort boxes contain a small pouch with flower seeds. It can become a quiet ritual: sowing or scattering together – as a sign of remembrance. When flowers grow later, they lovingly remind us of the star child.

Baptism Overlays / Blessing Cloths

In special situations, any of us may perform an emergency baptism. In many cultures it is a loving tradition to give a star child a blessing for its journey. From wedding dresses we have made small, delicate overlays for this purpose. They can serve as a sign of blessing for the star child and at the same time be used like a protective blanket in its little burial cradle.

We provide all these comfort materials free of charge at any time of day or night, and we also send comfort boxes with love. We appreciate small donations – for example to cover postage costs or through our Amazon wish list – so that we can continue our voluntary work and keep supporting families.
